Intern- Finance Baltimore

As a Ports America Summer Finance Intern you will have the opportunity to put your collegiate experiences and knowledge into action by working on high-impact projects within our Finance Department.

Throughout your time you will be exposed to the various financial functions that support a dynamic maritime company. You will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting analysis and budgeting while adding value to a critical part of our business. You will work closely with accounting financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and operational teams as well as external partners to help support the financial needs of a major terminal operation.

Essential Duties:

• Assist with financial reporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support business decisions
• Help track and manage operating expenses and capital projects
• Participate in financial modeling and variance analysis
• Assist with process documentation and improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational financial impacts
• Support audits and compliance documentation as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrollment at a college/university/trade school through Summer 2026 and/or into the Fall 2026 semester
• Pursuing a degree in Finance Accounting Business Economics or related field
• Valid US Drivers License
• Ability to obtain / maintain TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card)

Preferred Qualifications:

• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn
• Strong computer skills (MS Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook)
• Familiarity with financial systems or data analysis tools is a plus

Internship Details

• The start date will be Monday June 1st 2026
• The internship will last approximately 10 weeks ending on Friday August 14th 2026
• This is a full-time internship (up to 40 hours a week Mon- Friday)
• The format is expected to be in-person at Port or office location

Compensation & Benefits

• The hourly rate range is $25.00
