Senior Database Engineer (TS)

Position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to obtain additional security requirements. The ideal candidate will provide deep technical expertise across protocols services and tools to diagnose configuration issues implement corrective actions and ensure secure resilient and high performing data role includes guiding best practice security performance tuning maintenance strategy and high availability/distributed PostgreSQL solutions such as pgEdge. Candidates must demonstrate extensive experience with enterprise PostgreSQL deployments and modern distributed DB Responsibilities: Lead and assist in the architecture deployment and sustainment of complex distributed PostgreSQL environments. Provide expert troubleshooting for database performance configuration replication scalability and reliability issues. Analyze problematic configurations and implement corrective actions across a variety of database technologies and protocols. Recommend and apply best practices in database hardening security backup and maintenance. Support distributed PostgreSQL solutions including pgEdge Crunchy Data and other HA/DR frameworks. Collaborate with system engineering cybersecurity and cloud teams to ensure compliant and optimized data environments. Maintain documentation procedures and operational runbooks for enterprise database Experience: 5 years as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer Significant hands-on PostgreSQL experience in enterprise or mission critical environments Experience with geographically dispersed architecture HA/DR and distributed PostgreSQLEducation:Bachelors degree in computer science or related technical field is Certifications:DoD 8140 Baseline: Security (or GSEC) required Additional acceptable: Cloud SSCP CASP CISSP CISATechnical Certifications: T3 Level: DB platform certification aligned to environment (e.g. DP 300 Oracle OCP) Security T4 Level: Senior DB platform certification CISSP (or CCSP for cloud DB environments)Preferred Certifications/Training: T3: SSCP cloud data specialty performance/tuning training T4: Data architecture credentials encryption/key management training HA/DR specializationRelevant Technology Stack: PostgreSQL (latest versions) Crunchy Data pgEdge or similar distributed PostgreSQL technologyRequirements:TS/SCI security clearance required candidate will not be considered Equal Employment Opportunity Policy:The company is an equal opportunity employer.
