JBG SMITH is seeking a summer intern for the Strategy department. The successful candidate will be an analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability to discern patterns and trends from data as well as from qualitative contextual sources. Experience or coursework in urban planning or real estate is a plus.
Responsibilities will include entry organization and analysis of demographic and real estate data across office residential and other asset classes. The candidate will also assist in mapping data points and assembling presentations on market conditions. While the focus will be on data strong written communication skills are required. An ability to synthesize data and draw conclusions will set apart the successful candidate for this opportunity. Attention to detail is also a requirement as the intern will be responsible for updating and maintaining several transactional databases where comparable data is stored and benchmarked for use in underwriting and accuracy is paramount.
This department supports and informs strategy on acquisitions re-positionings and marketing/recap efforts as well as guiding asset management and development with regard to office and residential pricing and programming as well as innovative placemaking strategies. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of asset types careers and activities within the firm.
