Job Summary/Purpose
All members of Entergys safety function will be expected to own safety work to prevent incidents and seek toimprove with the understanding that zero harm is possible. The program manager will be expected to leaddevelop manage and improve assigned safety and occupational health programs. There will be regularopportunities to demonstrate skills in change management contract management and communications. Thisposition will also be required to present to leadership the health of the program they are responsible for and anydeficiencies identified along with sustainable solutions to prevent future issues. It will be expected that theprogram manager engages with and advises more junior safety professionals to support their growth and buildbench strength within the safety function.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation maintenance and validation of assigned safety and occupational healthmanagement system components.
- Manage revision process stakeholder groups external vendors and platforms for assigned managementsystem with and support business unit safety and operational leadership to lead and influence continuousimprovement across Entergy.
- Manage assigned programs through data review feedback and observations and perform revisions asneeded (PDCA).Manage applicable processes resources and contracts associated with safety programs.
- Lead and/or participate in internal and external special project teams with the purpose of continuousimprovement.
- Support and encourage the growth and development of safety professionals across the organizationthrough coaching and mentorship.
- Lead field visits seeking to understand and assess the health of assigned develop and maintain relationships with external partners organizations and memberships.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelors degree preferred or 6 years relevant work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
- 7 years relevant experience with minimum of 4 years in safety and demonstrated experience leading programsor initiatives.
Minimum knowledge skills and abilities required of the position
- Thorough understanding of applicable OSHA regulations and industry guidelines.
- Experience working within safety and occupational health management systems.
- Experience with change management and project management.
- Ability to observe and engage with employees and contract partners in a professional manner.
- Investigation/RCA with tools such as TapRoot Cause Mapping Fishbone Five Whys etc.
- Skilled in analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends utilizing tools such as MS Excel PowerBi SASetc.
- Ability to interact with customers and members of the public in a professional manner.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required.
Any certificates licenses etc. required of the position
- ASP/CSP/SMS/CUSP/CIH or equivalent
