Job Title: Diagnostic Technician (Phlebotomy / EKG) Location: Hyannis MA Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift (5x8 Hours)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician with experience in phlebotomy and EKG procedures for a 13-week assignment in an acute care setting. This role involves performing blood specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing while ensuring accuracy patient safety and compliance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection
Accurately label process and transport specimens to the laboratory
Verify patient identity and ensure correct test orders
Conduct non-invasive cardiac testing including EKGs Holter monitoring and stress testing
Provide patient instructions for specimen collection procedures
Complete documentation accurately within hospital systems
Ensure proper completion of lab requisitions and billing information
Collaborate with clinical staff regarding test orders and workflow updates
Maintain compliance with PPE and infection control standards
Support nursing units with specimen collection and diagnostic needs
Assist in training and mentoring new staff as needed
Monitor inventory restock supplies and remove expired items
Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment
Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives
Deliver excellent patient care and customer service
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Phlebotomy Certification (PBT)
EKG Certification
BLS Certification
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer proficiency and attention to documentation accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of phlebotomy and EKG experience
Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting
Experience with stress testing and Holter monitoring
