PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Supervise and plan/ schedule HVAC service calls preventative maintenance and projects. Write and edit controls programming for all applications. Dispatch and communicate with HVAC Technicians in troubleshooting vital comfort energy indoor air quality safety and scheduling concerns related to HVAC systems and controls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education/Certification:

High School diploma or equivalency preferred

Valid Driver License

Directly related maintenance experience. Hands on experience as a logic programmer is preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  1. Ability to supervise and give direction to other employees to insure the completion of all assigned tasks
  2. Ability to understand follow and/or transmit oral and written instructions.
  3. Ability to be self-motivated detail oriented and to be able to carryout assignments independently.
  4. Ability/willingness to create and support a safe work environment.
  5. Ability/willingness to perform work to support the vision mission values and goals of the Maintenance department and AISD.
  6. Knowledge of automation programming

Work Conditions:

Mental Demands:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor co-workersand the general public.

Frequent changes in tasks and perform manual labor.

Able to work nights and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Must be able to work in all weather conditions both day and night.

Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force

frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to repair and/or move equipment and objects.

Minimum Experience:

Programming experience for Logic Controls. Advanced computer skills preferred.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Maintain Controls software hardware network and IP maintenance for every district building
  2. See all Controls work orders and projects through from beginning to completion for every district building
  3. Fully supervise and plan/ schedule service calls preventative maintenance and projects on a daily -weekly basis for HVAC and automation employees.
  4. Review schedules and drawings for new Controls projects and order parts as needed
  5. Work directly with HVAC production personnel to isolate and repair equipment problems
  6. Communicate with school administration (Principals Secretaries Custodians)
  7. Supervise assist and communicate with contractors and subs during district projects.
  8. Take over duties as HVAC Foreman when HVAC Foreman is not present
  9. Provide systems operations data and trend logging reports.
  10. Manage BAS access and privileges for technicians and other staff as needed.
  11. Program BAS databases and sequences of operation.
  12. Troubleshoot and refine BAS onsite or via Intranet resulting in optimized building equipment operation energy utilization indoor air quality and comfort.
  13. Modify programming and graphics as necessary.
  14. Scheduling of HVAC equipment to meet comfort demands.
  15. Act as on call technician on a 24/7 365 day basis for all after hours scheduling and other HVAC/controls related issues.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

Supervise HVAC employees and automation technicians
