Position Overview:

Under general supervision prepares and evaluates cytologic specimens to determine pathologic condition. Microscopically screens assesses and reports negative gynecologic (Pap smear) findings to referring physicians. Locates pertinent cellular findings on glass slides. Prepares diagnostic assessments on reactive/reparative and abnormal gynecologic and all non-gynecologic specimens for pathologists review. Assists with the bedside collection and immediate specimen adequacy determinations of fine needle aspiration samples. Participates in quality control and quality assurance measures in accordance with regulatory agencies. Assumes additional responsibilities and job duties in support of services than a cytotechnologist I.

Candidate Profile:

• B.S. in Biology Medical Laboratory Science or related field
• Completion of accredited cytology program
• CT(ASCP) required
• 3 years of experience as a cytotechnologist preferred
