Metallurgical Engineer Aluminum Manufacturing (Sheet Operations) Davenport IA (Relocation Available) Full-Time Day Shift with Off-Shift Support as Needed
About the Opportunity:
We are partnering with a global leader in advanced materials and aluminum manufacturing to identify a Metallurgical Engineer who will play a critical role in supporting high-volume sheet production operations. This is an opportunity to join a large-scale highly automated manufacturing environment where your expertise will directly impact product quality process optimization and continuous improvement.
What Youll Do:
Drive process control and product quality within sheet manufacturing operations
Investigate and resolve metallurgical and production-related quality issues
Evaluate and improve materials processes and equipment performance
Partner closely with operations maintenance and production teams on the floor
Apply metallurgical principles (phase diagrams thermodynamics heat transfer etc.) to real-world manufacturing challenges
Support a 24/7 production environment including occasional off-shift or weekend engagement
What You Bring:
Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering Materials Science or Chemical Engineering
1 years of experience (internships count) in metals manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong foundation in physical/mechanical metallurgy and material processing
Ability to work cross-functionally in a plant-based hands-on environment
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR compliance required)
Highly Preferred:
Experience in aluminum or metals manufacturing
Exposure to quality systems (AS9100 or IATF16949)
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and statistical analysis
4 years of relevant metallurgical experience
