Qualifications:
College hours high school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Drivers License
Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain) Minimum 1-2 years experience in shipping/receiving warehouse operations (school district experience is preferred)
Knowledge of basic computer data entry and inventory systems preferred
Strong organizational communication and record-keeping skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work within deadlines and handle frequent interruptions
Bilingual (oral and written) in English and Spanish
Primary Purpose:
Provides support to department warehouse operations by receiving storing distributing and shipping parts supplies and equipment. Ensures accurate inventory control maintains shipping and receiving records and coordinates delivery with supervisors technicians campuses and departments as needed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Prepare pack label and stage outgoing shipments for vendor pickup.
- Report discrepancies damaged items shortages or overages to warehouse supervisor.
- Maintain accurate record of shipping and receiving activities and inventory movement.
- Assist in regular inventory cycle counts and warehouse audits.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication with department and district staff.
- Communicate with vendors regarding shipment status.
- Assist in maintaining a clean organized and safe warehouse and receiving center ensuring materials and equipment are stored properly and accessible when needed.
- Load & unload trucks using pallet jacks hand trucks or forklifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer scanner printer copier calculator and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Prolonged use of the computer. Repetitive hand motions. Flexible and cooperative with other school personnel and district patrons.
