The Oncology Nurse Navigator RN plays a critical role in guiding patients through their cancer treatment journey. This position focuses on coordinating care managing treatment plans and providing administrative and clinical support to oncology patients in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a primary point of contact for oncology patients throughout their treatment journey.
Coordinate and manage individualized patient care plans.
Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system including appointments treatments and follow-ups.
Collaborate with physicians specialists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
Provide patient education regarding diagnosis treatment options and care plans.
Monitor patient progress and address barriers to care.
Maintain accurate documentation using systems such as Epic Systems.
Support administrative workflows related to oncology care coordination.
Schedule & Work Environment
Day shift (Monday through Friday)
No weekend requirement
No on-call requirement
Outpatient cancer center setting
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)
Minimum 3 years of oncology experience (2 years may be considered for screening)
Oncology certification such as:
ONCC (Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation)
ONS (Oncology Nursing Society)
Strong care coordination and patient navigation experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in outpatient oncology or cancer center settings
Familiarity with oncology treatment protocols and patient management
Strong administrative and case management skills
