WordPress Technical Platform Owner

The WordPress Technical Platform Owner provides technical leadership for Sonovas WordPress platform and website portfolio ensuring strong architecture performance security and scalability. This role serves as the technical owner of the platform working closely with internal teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality reliable web solutions aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities:

Own WordPress platform architecture including theme and plugin strategy and define engineering standards and best practices
Drive platform performance and security including Core Web Vitals optimization caching strategies and regular technical audits
Manage and prioritize the platform backlog ensuring alignment with business goals and long-term platform strategy
Develop detailed technical specifications for website features and ensure clear communication with internal teams and vendors
Lead technical RFP creation evaluate vendor proposals and support vendor selection and onboarding
Review and approve vendor deliverables to ensure compliance with architectural security and performance standards
Act as the technical escalation point for platform-related issues and support release planning and delivery execution

More about you:

Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
5 years of experience in web development or website management with at least 2 years focused on WordPress
Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture administration and platform governance
Working knowledge of PHP JavaScript (including React/Gutenberg) HTML and CSS
Experience with performance optimization web security practices and technical audits
Familiarity with Agile methodologies backlog management and tools such as Jira or similar platforms
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
