Position Summary: The Accessioning clerk is responsible for the receiving sorting labeling and the processing of daily specimens that are to be analyzed and reported.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receive packages from FedEx and samples from couriers
Sort samples according to protocol
Perform QA and specimen container check
Perform scanning and imaging for billing
Perform initial data entry in LIS
Prepare samples for send-outs to reference laboratories
Record discrepancies and communicating these errors to Supervisor and Client Services
Collaborates with other internal departments to achieve business demands
Other duties as directed by direct supervisor.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience accessioning specimens required.
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience accessioning specimens preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in Computer Skills including Microsoft Suite (i.e. Outlooks Teams)
Attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong data entry skills
Exceptional time management skills
Efficiency in sorting and labeling.
Other Qualifications if applicable:
Ensure all company safety quality control and quality assurance standards are met
Knowledge of Standard of Operations (SOPs) related to performing patient phlebotomy and use of proper PPE
Maintain compliance with local federal HIPAA CLIA and CAP regulations.
Work Conditions:
Accessioning position requires extended periods of sitting or standing at a workstation while working on a computer.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Must use fingers handles and arms 75% of time to perform the work of accessioning.
