Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced fire systems engineer to take responsibility for the maintenance and servicing of life safety systems at a dedicated site. This role is well suited to someone who is confident working independently and takes ownership of ensuring systems remain fully operational and compliant.
The successful candidate will act as the on-site technical specialist supporting the ongoing performance and reliability of fire detection and suppression systems.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing and planned preventative maintenance on fire detection and suppression systems
Respond to emergency callouts and provide timely on-site support
Perform minor repairs and fault diagnosis during maintenance visits
Ensure site logbooks and system records are accurately maintained
Complete all required documentation including worksheets timesheets and expense records
Build strong working relationships with site stakeholders
Identify potential improvements or additional service opportunities
Attend training to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and industry compliance
Escalate critical issues where required and support problem-solving on site
Provide regular updates to senior team members regarding site performance and issues
Requirements
Proven experience working within the fire protection or life safety industry
Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm and suppression systems
Experience working with a range of systems (e.g. addressable panels voice alarm gas suppression and aspirating detection)
Ability to install test commission and service fire systems
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety and compliance
