The SAP Basis Security Technical Leader is responsible for coordinating governing and overseeing SAP Basis Security operations across hybrid landscapes including on-premise environments and SAP RISE (S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition). This role ensures secure compliant and standardized operations across SAP application and database platforms operating in both traditional data centers and cloud/hyperscaler environments.
The position acts as the technical coordination lead within the SAP Basis Security domain aligning internal teams SAP RISE providers hyperscalers cybersecurity functions and third-party vendors under a structured governance and shared-responsibility framework.
The Technical Leader drives long-term platform supportability operational resilience audit readiness privileged access governance and continuous improvement initiatives while enabling business value through secure and reliable platform operations.

Responsibilities
Act as the central coordination point for SAP Basis Security demands across on-premise and SAP RISE environments.
Govern the security operating model within SAP RISE ensuring clarity between SAP-managed scope and customer-managed responsibilities.
Coordinate technical alignment between internal teams SAP RISE operations hyperscalers and security stakeholders.
Ensure consistency of security standards and operational practices across hybrid platforms.
Define and monitor security controls aligned with the SAP RISE shared responsibility model.
Ensure accountability boundaries between SAP (service provider) and internal Digital Technology teams are clearly documented and enforced.
Review and monitor SLAs related to patching backup high availability and security controls.
Assess cloud risk exposure and coordinate mitigation strategies.
Ensure corporate security frameworks are applied to cloud-hosted SAP environments.
Coordinate design implementation and monitoring of IT security controls for SAP and database platforms.
Lead audit readiness activities including evidence collection and remediation tracking.
Ensure adherence to corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
Act as a Compliance Enabler within Digital Technologies.
Drive corrective action plans for operational or security deviations.
Participate in governance forums with SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) or equivalent RISE operational bodies.
Coordinate implementation and monitoring of privileged access management controls
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science - or equivalent in experience.
Experience in SAP Basis HANA Oracle and/or MSSQL environments
Proven experience in SAP security audit and compliance management
Strong understanding of SAP RISE operating model and hybrid (on-prem cloud) landscapes
Knowledge of cloud/hyperscaler environments (AWS Azure GCP) within managed SAP contexts
Experience managing vendors and holding them accountable to SLAs and KPIs
Strong analytical risk assessment and structured problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across global environments
Strong governance and process-oriented mindset
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
Effective English communication skills (written verbal and presentation)
Ability to operate effectively in dynamic and evolving environments

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Ability to deliver high quality and reliable software by collaborating with team. Outstanding analytical skills ability to apply expertise to drive complex technical and highly commercial solutions. Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer facing skills that include conducting compelling technical briefing& demonstrations including issues status reports and resolving impediments
