Job Summary
The Procurement Manager Materials & Transitionsis responsible forleading materialspurchasingprograms and project-managing new customer transitions to ensure continuity of supply cost competitiveness and operational readiness. This role develops and executes sourcing strategies for direct materials that positivelyimpactcost quality availability and service levels while supporting business growth and customer onboarding initiatives.
The Procurement Manager works cross-functionally with Operations Finance Sales IT and Customer Transition teams to define material requirements manage suppliers and ensure successful execution of new customer transitions and major program changes. A strong background in materials management analytics and project management isrequired.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads materials purchasing programs including sourcing strategy supplier selection pricing capacity planning and contracts
- Project manages new customer transitions and major program launches ensuring materials readiness and risk mitigation
- Develops and maintains material cost models forecasts and spend analytics
- Partners with Operations to ensure material availability and inventory optimization
- Drives continuous improvement across materials procurement
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Engineering Analytics or related field
- 58 years in procurement materials management or supply chain roles with experience in materials programs and customer transitions
- APICS or PMP a plus
- Contracts Experience
- Negotiation Skills
- Project Management Experience
- Total Cost Modeling Experience
- Proposal Process Experience
- Understanding of E-sourcing tools and their applications
- ERP systems experience (JDE Preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel Word PowerPoint
Physical Demands
- Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time. Constantly operates a computer and telephone and other office productivity machinery (i.e. a calculator copy machine and computer printer).
