Senior Consultant Veterans Health Administration

Overview

The Senior Consultant supports VHAs mission to plan engineer and implement enterprise healthcare transformation initiatives aligned with the VA Secretary and Undersecretarys priorities. The consultant collaborates across VHA program offices and field operations to define shared goals manage competing priorities and deliver integrated solutions within optimized platforms of care delivery.

This role requires an agile approach to leading multiple concurrent initiatives aligned with priorities that evolve in response to the needs of VHA and Veterans. Much of the work is complex fast-moving and ambiguous frequently driven by emerging healthcare priorities policy changes and Presidential or Congressional mandates.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership and VHA stakeholders providing practical mission-focused support
• Plan manage and execute enterprise-level healthcare transformation initiatives from concept through implementation
• Lead and contribute to multiple concurrent projects rapidly establishing structure scope and execution plans
• Coordinate across VHA program offices field operations and external partners to align goals manage dependencies and drive decisions
• Apply program management industrial engineering and healthcare systems engineering principles to design safe comprehensive and efficient solutions
• Deliver enterprise program and project management services often driven by legislation policy changes and executive direction
• Identify and manage risks resource constraints and budget considerations across competing priorities
• Produce high-quality executive-ready deliverables that inform decisions and advance mission outcomes
• Adapt quickly as priorities shift providing concierge-level support to leadership and program teams

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in management consulting healthcare transformation or federal health programs
• Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred
• Preferred certifications include PMP Prosci Lean and Human-Centered Design or similar
• MS Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint Word Teams) at an advanced level
• Demonstrated experience supporting Veterans Health Administration or federal healthcare initiatives strongly preferred
• Strong program and project management capability with experience leading complex multi-stakeholder efforts
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear actionable recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including comfort engaging senior government leaders
• Highly organized systematic and proactive with strong follow-through
