The Opportunity

We are seeking a Science Teacher who can bridge the gap between textbook theory and real-world application. This role involves teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 delivering a curriculum that spans Biology Chemistry and Physics with the potential for a Lead Practitioner or Key Stage 5 specialist role for an experienced candidate.
The Department
You will be based in a modern Science wing featuring high-specification laboratories interactive learning zones and a centralized prep room managed by a veteran technical team.
The department utilizes a Science Mastery approach emphasizing the fundamental laws of nature before moving into complex multi-disciplinary applications.
We are equipped with the latest STEM resources including digital data loggers 3D molecular modelling software and specialized apparatus for high-level Physics and Chemistry practicals.
The school maintains strong links with Greater Manchesters thriving life sciences sector and local universities offering students unique insights into careers in medicine engineering and environmental research.
Core Responsibilities
Delivering high-energy practical-led lessons that develop students abilities to observe hypothesize and draw evidence-based conclusions.
Teaching the core pillars of the curriculum: from the mechanics of the human body and chemical synthesis to the laws of energy and motion.
Preparing Year 11 students for GCSE Combined Science and Triple Science (AQA/Edexcel) with a heavy focus on mastering Required Practicals and exam technique.
Integrating mathematical skills into the science curriculum ensuring students are confident with data analysis unit conversions and the manipulation of scientific formulae.
Leading extracurricular STEM initiatives such as the Bolton Science Fair robotics clubs or sustainability projects focused on the local Pennine ecology.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a specialist who can spark a lightbulb moment in every student. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a Science discipline (Biology Chemistry or Physics).
A proven ability to maintain a safe disciplined and stimulating laboratory environment (in strict accordance with CLEAPSS guidelines).
Strong subject knowledge across all three sciences at Key Stage 3 and 4 with a commitment to maintaining your own subject-specialist CPD.
The communication skills to make abstract conceptssuch as atomic structure or electromagnetismtangible and exciting for a diverse range of learners.
