Senior Accountant

As Crete United continues to acquire and integrate MEP companies across the country the accounting team plays a critical role in bringing those businesses onto our platform. This Senior Accountant will be primarily focused on supporting acquired companies through that transition; helping stabilize their day-to-day accounting operations ensure financial statement accuracy and build the processes and controls that bring each new partner up to Crete Uniteds standards. Youll work closely with regional teams in the field while staying connected to the corporate accounting function.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting integration of acquired companies including invoice processing accounts payable vendor payments billings and collections fixed assets and lease (ROU) journal entries under ASC 842
• Assist regional accounting staff through month-end close including journal entries balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis
• Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Review AP/AR and WIP schedules; resolve vendor and internal discrepancies as they arise
• Develop optimize and monitor adherence to internal accounting policies procedures and controls
• Identify process improvement and cost savings opportunities; support strategic finance initiatives as needed
• Assist with new financial technology implementations including ERP and field management platforms

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting
• 3 years of accounting experience in a similar role
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP including financial statement preparation and review
• Ability to communicate accounting concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
• Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in construction or contractor accounting
• Familiarity with ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 842 (lease accounting)
• Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum and/or Build Ops
• Public accounting background
• Active CPA license
