Were hiring a Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) to join our Survey team and support a wide range of public and private sector projects across Texas. This is a development-focused role designed to help you grow toward professional licensure while gaining hands-on experience in both office and field surveying work.
What Youll Do
As a Surveyor-in-Training youll support project teams in the preparation and delivery of high-quality surveying products while developing your technical and professional skills under the guidance of a licensed RPLS.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the preparation of boundary topographic ALTA/NSPS and construction surveys
- Performing deed research title review and boundary analysis under supervision
- Processing and analyzing field data from GPS and conventional survey methods
- Preparing plats exhibits legal descriptions and survey drawings using CAD software
- Supporting field crews with data collection and occasional field work
- Maintaining organized project records field notes and survey documentation
- Ensuring QA/QC standards are followed for all survey deliverables
- Assisting with review of construction-related documents such as shop drawings and pay applications
- Collaborating with project teams to support project schedules and deliverables

Requirements
What Were Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Surveying Geomatics Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam
- Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or actively pursuing certification
- Strong understanding of basic surveying principles and boundary concepts
- Proficiencywith AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center
- Ability to operate data collectors surveying instruments and related equipment
- Strong attention to detail organization and accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work in both office and field environments
- Enthusiasm for learning and growing in the profession
