Were hiring a Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) to join our Survey team and support a wide range of public and private sector projects across Texas. This is a development-focused role designed to help you grow toward professional licensure while gaining hands-on experience in both office and field surveying work.

What Youll Do

As a Surveyor-in-Training youll support project teams in the preparation and delivery of high-quality surveying products while developing your technical and professional skills under the guidance of a licensed RPLS.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of boundary topographic ALTA/NSPS and construction surveys
  • Performing deed research title review and boundary analysis under supervision
  • Processing and analyzing field data from GPS and conventional survey methods
  • Preparing plats exhibits legal descriptions and survey drawings using CAD software
  • Supporting field crews with data collection and occasional field work
  • Maintaining organized project records field notes and survey documentation
  • Ensuring QA/QC standards are followed for all survey deliverables
  • Assisting with review of construction-related documents such as shop drawings and pay applications
  • Collaborating with project teams to support project schedules and deliverables

Requirements

What Were Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Surveying Geomatics Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam
  • Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or actively pursuing certification
  • Strong understanding of basic surveying principles and boundary concepts
  • Proficiencywith AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center
  • Ability to operate data collectors surveying instruments and related equipment
  • Strong attention to detail organization and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments
  • Enthusiasm for learning and growing in the profession
