Associate Welding Fabrication Specialist SAMC (4992)

Company:

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for an Associate Welding Fabrication Specialist to join our SAMC back shop team in San Antonio TX.

Position Responsibilities:

• Plan the sequence of welding operations working from assembly outlines process specifications welding procedure x-ray film and written or verbal instructions
• Set up and operate gas manual GTAW GMAW welding equipment
• Adjust speed of travel amperage and distance from torch to metal during welding
• Perform certified welding on company products where a high degree of mental concentration sensory alertness manual coordination and unusually difficult working positions are required for long periods
• Ability to meet customer engineering and NDT (e.g. X-ray dye penetrant and ultrasonic) specifications beyond those normally required of journeyman welders
• May also perform production welding normally associated with lower rated classifications
• Ability to pass an eye exam

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 3 years of TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding experience with aluminum Inconel stainless steel and titanium
• Experience reading blueprints and structural drawings
• Experience using basic math (addition subtraction multiplication and division)
• Ability to work variable shifts (i.e. scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements and workload

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Ability to read TIG welding blueprints and specifications
• Able to use a 2-person lift for weights greater than 50lbs

Summary Starting Pay Rate: $73300 / $35.24 per hour

Additive Pay: $1.00/hour Airframe Certification
