Job Description: Cambridge Specialty Company Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Mill Operator to join our team in Berlin Connecticut. This role is responsible for setting up operating and optimizing CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components in accordance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong machining knowledge a commitment to quality and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis 4-axis or 5-axis as applicable)
- Read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and work instructions
- Install tooling fixtures and workholding devices
- Load materials and ensure proper alignment and setup
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to ensure tolerances are met
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers micrometers height gauges etc.)
- Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with engineering or programming teams
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and maintain equipment in good working order
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred
- 2 years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of milling operations tooling feeds and speeds and materials
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience with CNC controls
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery noise and metalworking fluids
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times on the shop floor
