Human Services Practitioner Child Protection Team
Job Summary
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to develop and support case plans and safety plans across social services developmental disabilities and specialneeds programs.
This position will require a level II background check. This position is grant funded
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule that includes after-hours weekends and holiday coverage.
Responsibilities
Case Response Assessment & Planning (40%)
Responds to reports of alleged child maltreatment and conducts initial risk and family assessments in compliance with established assessment and intervention techniques. Actively participates as a collaborative team member in the development of case plans including safety and service planning in coordination with other agencies.
Judicial & Documentation Activities (25%)
Prepares and presents documentation for judicial planning and court processes. Compiles reports and accurately updates and maintains client recordsboth written and electronicin accordance with departmental guidelines and confidentiality standards.
Family Support & Community Referrals (15%)
Provides information and community referrals to child victims and their families with followup to ensure access to services and that identified family needs are addressed.
Team Management & Program Development (15%)
Participates in team management activities including the development of procedures guidelines and strategic planning initiatives.
Training Community Education & Other Duties (5%)
Develops and delivers child abuse and neglect training for professionals and partner agencies; conducts community education activities; and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Each position assigned to this classification must require specific training at the Bachelors degree or Masters degree level in Education Special Education Psychology Social Work or other field appropriate to the program content.
Bachelors degree candidates must have at least two years of applicable experience. The Masters degree may substitute for the required experience. Specific certifications or licensures may be required or preferred for certain program areas.

A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required not to exceed:

(c) Six years of direct experience for a masters degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure certification or registration
required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
