Contract length: 1 year

Location: 3 days onsite each week in midtown Manhattan (must be local)

Senior Software Engineer Infrastructure & Platform Security (Contract)
On-site in NYC 3x per week

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to support the development and modernization of systems that manage secure access to enterprise compute infrastructure. This role will focus on improving platform security refactoring legacy systems into scalable services and supporting infrastructure modernization initiatives across diverse environments.

The engineer will work on backend services and infrastructure tooling that enable secure access authentication and communication across distributed systems. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing existing applications supporting platform migrations implementing monitoring and automation and contributing to system reliability and security improvements.

Key areas of work include:

• Refactoring monolithic applications into scalable service-based architectures
• Supporting hardware and infrastructure refresh initiatives
• Building secure access and authentication capabilities for infrastructure systems
• Developing and enhancing gateway services and platform tooling
• Supporting internal security and audit remediation initiatives
• Expanding secure access solutions to support cloud environments
• Improving automation monitoring and deployment processes

The role involves close collaboration with engineering teams to design build test and deploy secure and reliable platform services.

Required Skills

• Strong programming experience in Python or Go
• Experience working with Linux/Unix environments
• Knowledge of distributed systems and backend service development
• Experience with REST APIs and infrastructure tooling
• Familiarity with automation frameworks CI/CD and configuration management
• Experience troubleshooting performance and reliability issues in production systems

This position operates in an agile development environment with work organized into 2 4 week sprint cycles and delivered through defined engineering tasks and technical specifications.
