Job Overview
James Loudspeaker is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our Service Center team in the greater Minden area. This role focuses on precision machining operations using both conventional and CNC equipment with strong emphasis on safety quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up operate and maintain CNC and manual machine tools (turning milling drilling boring etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings charts and schematics
- Measure and verify dimensions using micrometers calipers height gauges and other precision tools
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines and equipment
- Operate forklifts overhead cranes and hand/power tools as needed
- Conduct self-inspection of completed work to ensure quality standards
- Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE at all times
- Handle parts weighing up to 50 lbs
- Collaborate effectively with team members in a manufacturing environment
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of machine shop experience
- Strong understanding of machine shop math
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with tolerances (metric & imperial)
Preferred Qualifications
- 12 year CNC certificate or technical degree OR 2 years CNC operating experience
- Vocational training in blueprint reading tolerances and inspection techniques
