Job Description:


This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology enabling development efficiencies providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution
  • Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)
  • Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline
  • Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance e.g. pairing code reviews
  • Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features including automation for either a single team or multiple teams at the program level
  • Conducts research design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management CI/CD and features
  • Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements

LOBSpecific Position Summary

The Senior Engineer designs governs and evolves enterprisegrade technology solutions that support Legal & Public Policy operations. The role spans application architecture across frontend experience middletier services integrations messaging and data platforms. This position emphasizes architectural excellence longterm platform thinking and regulatory alignment rather than delivery execution enabling Legal teams to operate more efficiently securely and with greater confidence.

Primary Skill

  • Enterprise Software Engineering & Architecture
    (ObjectOriented Programming paradigms and an enterprise architecture mindset)

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 10 years for ownership of complex enterprise architectures

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience designing and building enterprisegrade applications across multiple layers: frontend middletier services/APIs integrations or messaging and backend/data layers.
  • Strong command of objectoriented programming principles architectural design patterns and modular system design.
  • Proven ability to define and document endtoend solution architectures including security performance resiliency availability and scalability considerations.
  • Experience designing serviceoriented and eventdriven architectures including API contracts and integration patterns.
  • Ability to produce clear architecture diagrams technical blueprints and executiveready presentations.
  • Demonstrated skill in influencing engineering outcomes through architecture guidance standards and reviews without direct delivery ownership.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs and make sound architectural decisions.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience architecting or guiding AI and Generative AI solutions including use of Copilot Studio RAG patterns orchestration workflows evaluation frameworks and safety/guardrails.
  • Familiarity with AI governance data privacy and security considerations in regulated environments.
  • Experience modernizing or evolving legacy systems toward modular scalable architectures.
  • Experience operating in Agile product environments with close business and technology collaboration.
