Job Summary

Bon Secours Hospital Cork in collaboration with University College Cork (UCC) is pleased to invite applications for two candidates at the registrar or Specialist Registrar (SPR) level to join the BRIGHT MD Program.

This exciting opportunity is designed for individuals who are looking to enhance their clinical expertise while contributing to innovative research in a world-class medical setting.

The BRIGHT MD Program offers a unique blend of advanced clinical training and cutting-edge research opportunities specifically tailored for medical professionals already established in their careers.

Candidates should already have a fully approved research project and a supervisor in place providing a structured framework for academic development and clinical success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in advanced clinical training and rotations across various specialties within Bon Secours Hospital Cork.
  • Lead and contribute to research projects aligned with the candidates approved research interests.
  • Collaborate with senior clinicians and academic mentors to develop clinical skills and research proficiency.
  • Participate in seminars workshops and academic sessions hosted by UCCs faculty and Bon Secours Hospital experts.
  • Present research findings at internal and external conferences contributing to medical advancements.
  • Actively engage in multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient-centered care.
  • Participate in self-assessment and feedback sessions to continuously improve clinical and academic capabilities.

Key Qualifications:

  • At the registrar or Specialist Registrar (SPR) level within a medical specialty.

  • A Primary Medical Degree

  • Current Medical Council Registration.
  • A fully approved research project and a designated supervisor who will guide your research efforts throughout the program.
  • Strong academic and clinical background with a demonstrated interest in research and innovation in healthcare.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to engage effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • A proactive independent approach to learning and professional development.
