Summary:

This position is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) that is a certified asthma educator with 3 years clinical experience and 2 years education/training experience. This person is responsible for the planning implementation and evaluation of patient and family asthma and tracheostomy education for Cook Childrens Health Care System. This individual is skilled at working with patients and families with health literacy challenges. Responsibilities include bedside education for patients and families staff education and competency validation for tracheostomy care and involvement on quality improvement and process improvement process teams that address evidence-based improvements for asthma and tracheostomy care.

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Salaried position.

Education/Certification/Licensure:

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• 3 years clinical experience required.
• 2 years education/training experience required.
• Certified Ashtma Educator required.
• Baccalaureate degree masters in education health literacy adult learning or related field strongly preferred.
• PALS required.
• CPR required.
