Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Fire Service Engineer to join a growing and well-established engineering team. This role is suited to a technically confident individual who enjoys working independently takes pride in delivering high standards and is committed to maintaining life safety systems.
The successful candidate will play a key role in servicing and maintaining fire detection and suppression systems across a variety of client sites.
Key Responsibilities
Service maintain and carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire detection and suppression systems
Respond to emergency callouts and provide professional on-site support
Participate in a callout rota
Diagnose faults and carry out minor repairs during service visits
Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards and is accurately documented
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Identify opportunities to improve system performance or enhance safety
Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through ongoing training
Requirements
Proven experience within the fire protection or life safety industry
Strong servicing and fault-finding skills across a range of fire alarm systems
Experience working with multiple system manufacturers
Commissioning capability on at least one major fire alarm platform
Ability to test commission and service systems in line with British Standards
Ability to work independently with a high level of attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a proactive solutions-focused approach
Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required
