About the Role

As a Finance Assistant you will support the Financial Controller in the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel. Your primary focus will be ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner with particular responsibility for purchase ledger and expenses.

You will also work closely with our external bookkeeping partner ensuring financial records are maintained to a high standard and aligned with company processes.

What Youll Do

  • Support the day-to-day finance function including accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger activities
  • Process invoices and expenses accurately and within required timelines
  • Reconcile and audit the daily business and maintain accurate financial records
  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting
  • Review invoices for accuracy and compliance
  • Support the coordination of external audits and annual financial reviews
  • Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects as required
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and improvements within finance processes

What Were Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Finance or Accounting role preferred (hotel experience advantageous)
  • Good understanding of purchase ledger and accounts receivable processes
  • Excel skills with confidence using Word
  • Comfortable adapting to new systems and technology
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • A professional reliable and proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage multiple departments
  • Experience with hotel systems (e.g. HMS) is beneficial but not essential
