Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Nurse (Registered Nurse - RN) to provide one-on-one care for a student in a post-secondary educational program. This role involves supporting a nonverbal student throughout the school day including transportation and community-based activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care for a student throughout the school day
- Accompany the student during transportation (bus rides to and from school)
- Support the student during community-based activities and outings
- Monitor health status and respond to medical needs as required
- Collaborate with school staff caregivers and support teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Required Experience & Skills:
- Experience working with special needs or nonverbal patients preferred
- Strong patient care and observation skills
- Ability to work independently in a school and community setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Michigan (required)
- School or Department of Education certification (if applicable)
- BLS certification preferred
