Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Special Education Teacher -Middle Schoolfor an exciting Travel or Local job in Plainfield NJ.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops implements and monitors Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Provides direct instruction tailored to students with disabilities across core subject areas
• Assesses student performance and adjusts instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs
• Collaborates with general education teachers support staff and related service providers to ensure student success
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress services and compliance requirements
• Implements behavior intervention plans and supports positive student behavior
• Communicates regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and educational needs
• Creates an inclusive classroom environment that supports social emotional and academic development
• Participates in IEP meetings staff meetings and professional development activities
• Ensures compliance with IDEA and other applicable special education laws and regulations

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Special Education teaching certification required (or eligibility)
• Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred)
• Experience working with middle school students with diverse learning needs preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development implementation and compliance
• Effective classroom management and behavior intervention skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction and use evidence-based teaching strategies
• Excellent communication collaboration and organizational skills
