Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Special Education Teacher -Middle Schoolfor an exciting Travel or Local job in Plainfield NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops implements and monitors Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations
Provides direct instruction tailored to students with disabilities across core subject areas
Assesses student performance and adjusts instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs
Collaborates with general education teachers support staff and related service providers to ensure student success
Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress services and compliance requirements
Implements behavior intervention plans and supports positive student behavior
Communicates regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and educational needs
Creates an inclusive classroom environment that supports social emotional and academic development
Participates in IEP meetings staff meetings and professional development activities
Ensures compliance with IDEA and other applicable special education laws and regulations
Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey Special Education teaching certification required (or eligibility)
Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred)
Experience working with middle school students with diverse learning needs preferred
Strong knowledge of IEP development implementation and compliance
Effective classroom management and behavior intervention skills
Ability to differentiate instruction and use evidence-based teaching strategies
Excellent communication collaboration and organizational skills
