- Paul Taylor Academy seeks a strong and energetic educational leader to begin July 1 2026. The deadline for first-round application submissions is April 28 2026 at 4:00 PM (MST).
Minimum Qualifications:
- New Mexico Educational Administration License
- Current resident of the Las Cruces area or willing to relocate
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years teaching experience in elementary and/or middle school
- 5 years of administrative experience including experience in:
o writing budgets
o writing curriculum
o school management
o building a school community with staff and families
o ordering materials and supplies
- New Mexico charter school leadership experience
Job Description
Duties include:
-Ensuring effective school-wideimplementation of the material terms of the schools charter contract including Project-Based Learning and Spanish Language Acquisition
-Hiring and managing faculty and staff which includes approximately 35 staff members including 17 teachers the Assistant Director the Food Services Manager several Educational Assistants secretarial staff and others
-Implementing and conducting the Educator Effectiveness System to support teacher growth and development which includes completing classroom walkthroughs follow up and feedback on teacher performance and submitting comprehensive documentation on NM Professional Responsibilities Observation and Feedback Domains.
-Building and maintaining a positive and inclusive school culture and community
-Managing the schools budget
-Overseeing school procurement
-Overseeing and coordinating with the schools Business Manager
-Implementing effective school procedures
-Conducting state reporting which includes but is not limited to Federal Program annual reports the Safe Schools Plan annual Performance Framework metrics and 40th/80th/120th day review and certification.
-Overseeing and being an active participant in several school committees
-Planning and implementing an effective and meaningful professional development program for certified staff
-Management of student staff and other state-requiredrecords
-Partnering with and reporting to the schools Governance Council (i.e. School Board)
-Overseeing the maintenance of school facilities
-Effectively implementing school policies
