We are seeking a full-time Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to join a behavioral health hospital in Petersburg Virginia. • Employment Type: Full-Time (Employed or Independent Contractor option)
  Schedule / Hours: Full-time inpatient schedule
  Call: Shared call (weeknights by phone; weekend rounding)
  Patient Volume: Adult and Adolescent inpatient caseload (manageable team-supported)
  Location: Petersburg VA (Richmond metro area)
  Practice Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Hospital (Adult Military or Adolescent Unit)
  Support / Care Team: Psychiatrists APPs nursing staff therapists case managers

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adult and adolescent patients with mental health and substance use disorders
  Conduct admission evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  Lead multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure coordinated care
  Manage daily patient care including medication management and progress evaluations
  Participate in on-call coverage and weekend rounding as scheduled
  Collaborate with physicians APPs and clinical support staff
  Document patient care treatment plans and clinical updates

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  Active or eligible Virginia medical license
  Minimum of 4 years of training/practice experience
  Inpatient psychiatry experience preferred
  Meets credentialing requirements for medical staff
