Finance Analyst – Grants and Contracts
Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Finance Analyst - Grants & Contracts to join our Finance Function within the Corporate group.
This is a full-timeopportunity on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade Canary Wharf London E14 4PU.
Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.
We are currently implementing a flexible hybrid way of working with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role this can flex up to 12 days a month with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

We support the Accounting Officer and Executive Committee in meeting their responsibilities to Parliament and the public including through high-quality financial planningreportingand stewardship.
The function is structured in line with the Government Finance profession model covering strategic finance finance business partnering planning and performance financialoperationsand financial control. Across these areas weare responsible foractivities such as budgeting forecastingagency fee settingmanagement information financial analysis financial accounting and the billing and collection of income due to the Agency. We work closely with colleagues across science regulationenforcementand corporate services to ensure that plans are affordable risks are understood and managed and that we meet HM Treasury and accounting requirements.

The Strategic Finance team playsa central rolein supporting organisational decision-making byprovidinghigh-quality financial insightplanningand reporting. It ensures robust oversight of budgetsincomeand expenditure and supports thefinancial managementof key programmes including grant-funded activity. The team works closely with stakeholders across the Agency to ensure financial sustainability and enable delivery of strategic priorities.
Whats the role
This role supports the delivery ofaccurateandtimelyfinancial reporting for grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with internal processes and external funder requirements. It plays a key role in supporting projectfinancial management working closely with stakeholders across finance and project teams. The role offers a strong development opportunity within a complex and high-profile public sector environment.
Key responsibilities:
Produceaccurateandtimelyfinancial reports for grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with funder requirements and internal standards.
Support month-end processes including preparation of journalsaccrualsand project-related financial adjustments.
Provide financial information and analysis to project managers and budget holders supporting effective budget monitoring and decision-making.
Maintain and manage project financial data within Oracle Fusion (or equivalent) including project setupinvoicingand closure processes.
Who are we looking for
Oursuccessful candidatewill have the following:
Experience of financial reporting budgetmonitoringor project finance activities.
Ability to work with stakeholders to provide financial information and resolve queries effectively.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Working towards (or holding) a professional accounting qualification (e.g. AAT ACCA CIMA CIPFA).
Experienceof using finance systems (e.g. Oracle Fusion) and understanding of core accounting processes.
