Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategic Projects and Planning the Advisor Strategy and Planning supports the advancement of strategic initiatives within the Office of the President & CEO. Working closely with senior leadership the role contributes to the delivery of UHNs strategic plan environmental scanning and the development of high-quality executive materials. This position requires strong judgment writing skills and the ability to manage priorities in a complex high-visibility environment.

Duties

  • Strategic Planning Leadership: Support and when delegated lead strategic planning initiatives ensuring effective execution risk management and alignment with institutional priorities.
  • Strategic Planning Cycle: Contribute to UHNs strategic planning cycle and coordination across hospital portfolios to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Performance Monitoring & Accountability: Support development of performance frameworks including KPIs dashboards and reporting for executive and Board decision-making.
  • Data Synthesis & Analysis: Synthesize performance data across clinical research education and innovation portfolios to generate integrated strategic insights.
  • Policy Intelligence & Environmental Scanning: Conduct environmental scans and policy analysis across provincial and federal health systems to identify trends risks and opportunities.
  • Strategic Analysis & Recommendations: Develop SWOT analyses and strategic recommendations to support decision-making and issue escalation.
  • Executive Communications & Corporate Affairs: Prepare high-quality briefing notes presentations speaking notes and strategic reports for senior leadership.
  • Government Relations Support: Support preparation of Ministry-facing materials and correspondence under the direction of senior leadership.
  • Communication Alignment: Ensure all materials are aligned with organizational priorities and tailored for executive-level audiences.
  • Enterprise Integration & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to support collaboration alignment and delivery of strategic initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Completion of a Bachelors degree in Health or Business Administration or equivalent required. Masters degree would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in strategic planning project management health policy or corporate communications preferably in healthcare or the public sector.
  • Experience supporting senior executives or working in an executive office environment is an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive-level materials (briefing notes reports presentations).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated judgment discretion and ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Co-Pilot and tools supporting project management and reporting.
