Preparation Supervisor (Gladstone)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Preparation Supervisor to join our Gladstone this role you will support the Business Manager in delivering high-quality timely laboratory services while leading a team to ensure accurate sampling preparation analysis and reporting in line with international standards.
You will play a key role in driving team performance maintaining strong safety standards and supporting continuous improvement across operations.
What you will do
- Lead and coordinate daily preparation activities to ensure timely and accurate results
- Supervise coal sample preparation and testing in line with relevant standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies procedures and quality systems
- Promote a strong safety culture including risk identification and mitigation
- Monitor team performance and intervene where required to maintain safe work practices
- Maintain and improve procedures work instructions and risk assessments
- Support staff training development and competency assessments
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and clients
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ad-hoc projects
Qualifications :
About You
- Minimum 5 years experience in coal laboratory operations
- Strong knowledge of sampling preparation analysis validation and reporting
- Experience with quality and compliance systems
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards) highly regarded
- Strong safety mindset with proven risk management capability
- Solid administrative and computer skills (Word Excel CCLAS)
- Proven ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong leadership communication and team development skills
