Job Summary

Position Purpose: 

As an Engineering Associate you will manage projects from concept to completion spanning water and wastewater transmission distribution and treatment systems. Youll be the primary engineering point of contact for new development activities lead service replacement initiatives and play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence across Veolias Mid-State and Highlands operations.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Project Management & Engineering Design:
    • Lead capital improvement projects from inception through closeout including conceptual development detailed design cost estimation procurement construction administration and as-built documentation.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for developer-funded main extensions and complex service installations.
    • Translate Veolias technical requirements clearly to developers contractors and external stakeholders.
    • Manage multiple concurrent projects of varying scope and complexity.
    • Prepare bid documents and coordinate procurement with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department.
    • Develop project budgets track expenditures and forecast costs to ensure alignment with financial goals.
    • Prepare refund calculations for developer-funded water main extensions.
    • Review and approve fire suppression calculation reports for new or enlarged fire services.
    • Support emergency response efforts including large main breaks and other field incidents.
  • Lead Service Replacement (LSR):
    • Support planning documentation and tracking of LSR projects.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to maintain accurate records and project status updates.
    • Assist with compliance documentation and regulatory reporting.
  • GIS & Document Management:
    • Utilize GIS systems (ESRI) to verify infrastructure data and maintain accurate mapping records.
    • Manage engineering documentation using established tracking systems ensuring consistency and accessibility.
    • Align engineering records with GIS mapping data.
  • Hydraulic Modeling:
    • Support hydraulic modeling efforts for system capacity analysis and new development review.
    • Evaluate system impacts related to new service connections or infrastructure changes.
    • Prepare technical documentation to support engineering reviews.
  • New Business Coordination:
    • Coordinate new development applications through internal engineering review processes.
    • Conduct pre-application reviews to assess system capacity and compliance.
    • Prepare Will Serve Letters and service application materials.
  • Permitting & Field Work:
    • Prepare and process Government Road Opening Permit applications.
    • Coordinate and document hydrant flow tests including data collection and reporting.
    • Support compliance with municipal and regulatory requirements.
  • Data & Financial Tracking:
    • Maintain accurate project and service data in Kloudgin and other tracking platforms.
    • Assist with financial reporting and reconciliation activities.

Qualifications :

Education/Experience/Background: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (required).
  • 05 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Google Workspace experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Revit ESRI/GIS PowerPlan or INFOR/Hexagon is a plus.
  • Hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Strong analytical organizational and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and record management.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training: 

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or eligibility to obtain (required).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (a plus).
  • Valid drivers license (required).

Additional Information :

Pay Ratee: $76000 to $85000 per year.
