Job Summary
Support and lead client projects on-site in both national and international settings covering sourcing strategies product development process optimization and implementation across a range of industries.
Assess and optimize product and process costs throughout the full product development lifecycle from early concept phase through industrialization and implementation.
Interpret product development plans and translate technical requirements into effective cost engineering strategies.
Apply engineering and design expertise to collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering procurement operations and manufacturing.
Contribute procurement and business insight to develop and support fact-based cost-driven negotiation strategies.
Analyze and optimize product engineering solutions with a particular focus on system integration cost drivers and technical interdependencies.
Use cost engineering tools and methodologies to identify quantify and implement cost improvement opportunities.
Leverage knowledge of manufacturing processes and production methods to evaluate cost implications for components assemblies and systems.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Industrial Engineering (with technical focus); an MBA is a plus.
47 years of experience in industry or consulting ideally in development production and/ or procurement roles.
Strong technical foundation and expert-level knowledge in product engineering and cost management.
Industry experience in automotive off-highway industrial goods aerospace or electronics is highly valued.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think analytically creatively and strategically.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including fluency in English.
High degree of mobility and willingness to travel frequently.
Passion for working on cost optimization projects and delivering measurable results.

The estimated base salary for this role is $120000-$130000. This estimate reflects the best estimate at the time of this posting and does not guarantee any specific salary for this position. It is important to note that at Roland Berger individual salaries are determined on a case-by-case basis based on experience education office location start date and organizational needs. Roland Berger will review your performance at least annually and may adjust your salary in its sole discretion
