Astera Health is once again participating in the Summer Health Care Internship Program (SHCIP) to provide students with a chance to work in a health care setting. The program gives interested students experience in the medical care environment and exposure to a variety of opportunities.
This work schedule will consist of Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00am - 5:00pm for a seven-week period beginning with a MANDATORY orientation on Tuesday June 16 and concluding with a wrap-up session tentatively scheduled for Thursday July 30. Due to the limited number of internships available applicants will be required to schedule an interview between May 13 - 23.
Area students who are between their junior and senior year of high school are eligible to apply. All interested students must submit an employment application with the following:
- Resume
- Cover letter
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher (preferably a health occupations or science educator) at your school
Please note: applications submitted without all three components will not be considered. Also due to the high volume of applications received no late applications will be accepted. Applications are due by Sunday May 10 2026.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Observe listen and participate in assigned departments as requested by department managers.
