Job Summary
Job Title: Mail Associate (Level 1)
Contract: 12 Months (Possibility of Extension)
Location: Saint Laurent QC
Pay Rate: $18.80/HR
Overview
We are seeking a reliable Mail Associate (Level 1) to support daily mailroom and shipping operations. This role involves handling incoming and outgoing mail basic printing and general logistics support.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive sort and distribute mail packages and supplies
- Prepare outgoing shipments using courier postal and freight services
- Perform basic printing using colour production printers
- Maintain records and logs for incoming and outgoing mail
- Operate mailroom equipment (inserters sorters finishing equipment)
- Package materials according to established standards
- Perform quality checks on outgoing mail
- Track and resolve mail or shipment issues
- Support shipping and receiving using automated systems
- Deliver and pick up mail on scheduled routes
- Maintain inventory of mailroom supplies
- Follow all mailroom security procedures
Requirements
- Able to stand for extended periods (up to 80% of the day)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid drivers license
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
Skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Ability to read and follow instructions in English
Experience & Education
- 6 months to 1 year of work experience (mailroom or similar preferred)
- Experience in a client-facing environment is an asset
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Nice to Have (if applicable)
- Dock experience
- Experience with lift trucks or material handling equipment
