Area Product Finance Business Partner
Job Summary
The Area Product Finance Business Partner (APFBP) plays a critical role in driving business performance by partnering with key stakeholders across operations commercial functions and back-office functional teams to deliver financial targets.
This is achieved through a data-driven approach aligned with the Maersk wayleveraging financial insights trend analysis and customer intelligence to support proactive problem-solving effective action planning and clear communication. The role contributes to both short-term deliverables and long-term strategic execution.
The APFBP also serves as the primary financial focal point within the Area overseeing reporting performance management and financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the financial focal point for the area from a performance management perspective owning P&L review and budget setting to drive performance
- Deliver accurate forecasting with clear visibility on risks and opportunities.
- Commercially minded working with the operations and deliver impactful improvements via financial insights that aligned with business needs.
- Apply statistical methods and data modelling techniques to identify patterns trends and insights across operations and commercial activities enabling informed decision-making and continued performance improvements.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to establish best practices within the Area fostering a continuous improvement (CI) mindset.
- Translate complex data into clear actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Improve process efficiency and reduce waste in frontline operations through enhanced coordination with procurement and applying the Maersk Way (problem solving action planning Kaizen).
- Working closely with the controlling team to improve workflows and enhance report data hygiene
- Drive process efficiency and working with the sites and business analysts to strengthen financial governance across purchase order (PO) processes site expenses management and capital expenditure tracking
- Support the development of standardized reporting tools
- Analyze short-term and long-term opportunities against targets providing contract-specific recommendations to improve performance.
Who we are looking for
- Graduate Qualifications such as Bachelors/Masters in relevant Finance or Economics fields or equivalent Professional Qualification such as CA/CPA
- Accounting skills including knowledge of accounting principles standards and techniques cost analysis and reduction
- Previous experience working within a fast and dynamic Logistics Manufacturing or Product environment would be clear added advantage.
- Knowledge of ERP systems including but not limited to SAP
- Strong analytical skills
- Applied & advance skills on Ms Office applications (Ms Excel & Power Point) and external applications (SAP BI SAP BW & Power BI).
- Good problem-solving and prioritization skills
