Overview
Our client is a leading force in the North American energy sector driving innovation in sustainable power generation and infrastructure development. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Engineer to join a critical construction project that will shape the future of energy delivery.
This is a hands-on site-based contract role requiring extensive engineering expertise and leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring engineering excellence compliance and project success for a major energy construction initiative.
Key Responsibilities
Provide senior-level engineering oversight and technical direction for large-scale energy construction projects
Review and approve engineering designs specifications and construction documents
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes standards and regulatory requirements
Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including project managers contractors and field personnel
Conduct site inspections and quality assurance audits to verify construction adherence to engineering plans
Resolve complex technical issues and provide engineering solutions in real-time
Develop and implement engineering procedures and best practices for the project
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the construction team
Prepare and present technical reports progress updates and risk assessments
Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil Mechanical Electrical or related field) required; Masters degree preferred
Experience: 11-15 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 5 years in a senior role
Industry Background: Extensive experience in energy utilities or heavy industrial construction projects
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
Technical Skills: Proficiency with engineering software design standards and construction methodologies
Project Experience: Demonstrated success on projects exceeding $50M in value
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface at all organizational levels
Location: Must be available to work on-site for the duration of the contract
