Job Summary

What Youll Do:

  • Lead and manage transportation design projects in compliance with SCDOT FHWA and applicable regulatory standards
  • Oversee the preparation of preliminary engineering plans right-of-way (ROW) plans and final construction documents
  • Coordinate cross-functional project activities including surveying traffic engineering drainage/hydraulics utilities and environmental compliance
  • Develop and manage project schedules budgets and progress reporting to ensure successful and timely delivery
  • Act as the primary point of contact for DOTs counties municipalities and other key stakeholders
  • Provide leadership mentorship and technical guidance to engineering staff and project teams
  • Review and approve design plans technical specifications cost estimates and QA/QC documentation
  • Support business development initiatives including proposal preparation and contract negotiations
  • Assist with construction phase services such as responding to RFIs reviewing shop drawings and coordinating field activities

What Youll Bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Masters degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina North Carolina Georgia or Florida or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 10 years of progressive experience in roadway bridge and transportation design and project management
  • Demonstrated success managing DOT county and/or municipal transportation projects from concept through PS&E
  • Strong knowledge of DOT design manuals AASHTO guidelines MUTCD standards and project delivery methodologies
  • Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
