Our client is a leading force in the renewable energy sector driving the transition to a sustainable future. They are seeking a Project Engineer to play a pivotal role in their Utility-Scale Energy Storage division. This is a high-impact contract position for an engineer with 5 years of experience who is passionate about designing and executing cutting-edge battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from conception through to completion. You will be the technical linchpin ensuring engineering excellence and seamless integration of major components for large-scale storage installations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering design phase for utility-scale energy storage projects including the specification and integration of major system components.
Conduct technical due diligence analyze performance data and propose optimized storage solutions to maximize system ROI and reliability.
Prepare comprehensive technical scopes of work for engineering procurement and construction contracts.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers to guide projects from inception to commissioning managing milestones and identifying/mitigating technical risks.
Review and approve engineering drawings and studies identifying inconsistencies and driving improvements in design quality and efficiency.
Serve as the primary technical liaison with equipment suppliers EPC contractors and internal cross-functional teams (Development Construction O&M).
Provide expert consultation and influence engineering decisions across project teams to solve complex problems and integrate innovative solutions.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical Civil or related Engineering field. Advanced degree a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience with a focus on energy storage renewable energy or utility-scale power projects.
Proven expertise in the design engineering and technical oversight of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Strong project engineering/management skills with a track record of supporting projects through full lifecycle.
Excellent ability to analyze technical data conduct studies and prepare detailed engineering documentation.
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Must be local to or willing to relocate to the Juno Beach FL area for this on-site role.
