The Chief Commercial Banking Officer (CCBO) is responsible for leading the commercial banking division driving growth in SME and mid-market segments through lending deposits and relationship management.
This role focuses on expanding the commercial portfolio strengthening client relationships and ensuring high-quality credit while maintaining compliance with regulatory and risk frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Banking Strategy & Growth
Develop and execute commercial banking strategy aligned with overall business goals
Drive growth in SME mid-market and commercial client segments
Identify new market opportunities and industry focus areas
Achieve revenue profitability and portfolio growth targets
2. Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial clients
Oversee relationship managers and business bankers
Drive client acquisition retention and cross-selling strategies
Deliver tailored financial solutions to meet client needs
3. Lending & Credit Oversight
Oversee commercial lending activities including working capital term loans and trade finance
Ensure sound credit underwriting standards and policies
Approve large credit proposals within delegated authority
Maintain portfolio quality and minimize credit losses
4. Portfolio & Risk Management
Monitor commercial loan portfolio performance and asset quality
Manage non-performing loans (NPL/NPA) and recovery strategies
Align growth strategies with risk appetite
Collaborate with risk and credit teams for effective risk management
