Job Summary
Job Objective: To assist in the maintenance of campus grounds to enhance the safety and beauty of campus grounds gardens walkways roads and athletic fields.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain parking areas roadways walkways and campus grounds by repairing potholes and cracks surfaces mowing grass in summer and performing snow and ice removalincluding plowing and saltingduring winter.
- Demonstrated ability to recommend select install and maintain appropriate plant materials for various campus locations in order to enhance aesthetic appeal minimize maintenance requirements and create an inviting and welcoming environment.
- Plants trees and shrubs and is competent in the care and pruning required to maintain healthy plants.
- Regularly inspect plants trees and shrubs to identify potential pest issuesincluding insects diseases and weedsearly before they become difficult to manage.
- Ability to proficiently operate tractors trucks mowers chainsaws string trimmer backhoe loaders forklift and any other equipment needed to perform duties assigned.
- Collects and removes litter and garbage on campus as needed.
- Keep interest current by attending trade shows conferences and visiting other campuses.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school and college or technical training is preferred
