Synergie Australia is seeking an Assistant Accountant for a valued client based on St Kilda Road Melbourne.

The important parts:

• Employment Type: Full-time permanent
• Hours: MondayFriday 8:30am5:00pm (2 days WFH)
• Start: ASAP
• Location: St Kilda Road Melbourne

What you will be required to do:

You will support the Finance team with daytoday accounting and finance operations contributing to accurate reporting compliance and smooth financial processes. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is keen to learn and grow.

• Assisting with general ledger maintenance journals and reconciliations
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Assisting with BAS IAS payroll tax and statutory reporting
• Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
• Supporting monthend reporting and financial analysis
• Maintaining accurate financial and supplier records
• Assisting with audits and compliance requirements
• Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems and processes

To be successful in the role you will:

• Hold a bachelors degree in accounting or finance
• Be working towards CPA or CA (preferred)
• Have 13 years experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
• Have strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Be confident with Excel and willing to learn accounting systems (MYOB preferred)
• Be organised reliable and able to manage deadlines
• Have strong communication and timemanagement skills
• Demonstrate professionalism integrity and confidentiality
