Key job responsibilities

Facility Engineer - Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) role will be responsible for deploying operating and maintaining facilities (electrical/mechanical systems control/fire-fighting systems etc.) and managing related projects at our large-scale high-density data centers.

In day-to-day scale you will be involved in:
Inspections and monitoring of building systems and troubleshooting facility issues

Improving operation efficiency and energy savings

Planning and performing of regular maintenance and repairs with vendors and partners this includes critical facilities operation such as breaker operation mechanical/electrical equipment operation.

Confirming electrical cooling capacity before new capacity installation

Reviewing designs for new data center construction and existing data center expansions

Collaborate with project team members to support construction and testing

A day in the life
- WORKING HOURS

Flexible work arrangements:

8 hours of actual work between 9:00-18:00 on normal business days.

Working hours can be consulted and adjusted depending on the work on the day and week.

There are on-call duties after normal working hours rotating by all team members on weekly basis.

*Note: Depending on business situation this role might require shift work. More details of shift work can be explained during the interview.

- 2 years of vendor management experience
- 2 years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
- Experience in vendor management
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment
- Experience in data center engineering or operations
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook Word and Excel
- Experience or basic understanding of maintenance change management incident management vendor management as well as how to work adhering to policies processes and procedures.
- Both verbal and reading/writing proficiency in Japanese (equivalent to JLPT N2) and in English (equivalent to TOEIC 550 or at a level to handle daily tasks in English)

- Project Management certification (PMP Prince2 ITILv2 BICSI).
- Strong ability to understand electrical systems (supply system of power substations transformers switchgears VFI-class UPS DRUPS PDU ATS STS SLA or VRLA battery and related systems fuel systems related to diesel/gas turbine generators surge control circuits active harmonic filters battery monitoring systems branch circuit monitoring systems SCADA systems).
- Strong ability to understand mechanical systems (CRAC/CRAH AHU chillers cooling towers storage tanks heat exchangers plumbing systems pumps valves duct systems fans dampers fire detection and extinguishing systems drainage systems building monitoring systems automatic control systems).
- Fluency in English - TOEIC score 800 or equivalent.
