Position: MFT Associate (MFTA)

Hours: Part-time Non-Exempt

Salary: $40 per hour

Reports to:

  • Clinical Supervisor for supervision of clinical work (online or in person)
  • Director of Patient Care for non supervision related duties

General Description: The MFTA provides client intakes assessment treatment planning and psychotherapy including crisis intervention for individuals couples and families in person and when appropriate via telehealth. Additionally the MFTA may assist the Clinical Supervisor and Director of Patient Care with client screenings for therapy services with Claris trainees and other therapists. The MFTA is supervised by a licensed MFT provided by Claris Health.

Primary Responsibilities:

Therapy/Clinical Work:

  • Receives psychotherapy referrals and initiates intake and treatment.
  • Provides psychotherapy in accordance w/ ethical and legal guidelines as established by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Manages a client caseload.
  • Reports weekly to Licensed MFT who provides supervision for clinical work.

Administration:

  • Works with the Director of Patient Care to ensure proper payment collection and documentation from applicable sessions.
  • Completes client assessments to determine eligibility for therapy services and for the Clinical Supervisor to assign clients to a dedicated therapist.
  • Provides appropriate referrals for additional community services that may be relevant to the clients specific needs.
  • Attends applicable training provided or recommended by Claris Health.
  • Maintains proper electronic record-keeping in client charts.
  • Assists with all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Agree with and uphold the Claris Health Mission Statement Core Values and Policies and Procedures.
  • Express a sincere desire to reach out to abortion-vulnerable women and will therefore never refer or advise a woman to have an abortion.
  • Hold a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy and is pursuing licensure in the state of CA.
  • Maintain a registration with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences as an MFTA and be a current member of CAMFT.
  • Provide proof of professional liability insurance.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job this person is regularly required to sit stand walk speak and hear. This position requires extensive computer use so the employee must have sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen (or ability to engage similar technology to accommodate a specific disability). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Travel:

This person must be able to travel between locations and meetings. They must be able and willing to attend conferences training and other events as required to acquire and maintain proficiency in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.

Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Claris Healths pay ranges vary based on work location. As part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus as well as annual refresh stock grants.
