Draughtsman

The roles purpose is to create and maintain leasing and technical drawings and related documentation based on specifications and calculations.

Surveying

1. Survey buildings on-site (Re-measurement of Commercial Residential & Industrial sites).
2. Generate CAD drawing files from site sketches.
3. Calculate rentable area from CAD drawings and ensure accuracy.
4. Tidy up drawings add titles notes and sizes and plot drawings onto a formal CPA title block.
5. Effectively manage internal requests received through the centralised mailbox.

Verification

1. Verify the layout of buildings on-site against existing plans.
2. Update existing CAD drawings from site sketches and recalculate rentable areas.
3. Allocate and measure usable areas on office plans (CAD).
4. Calculate rentable areas from CAD per the SAPOA method.
5. Compile a neat rentable area sheet for updating MDA.
6. Generate leasing plans for leasing purposes.

Admin & Soft Skills

1. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of all measurements and calculations.
2. Attention to detail and accessibility to complete work on internal public folders.
3. Indexing and filing of building correspondence on the shared drive for use by internal staff.
4. Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues.
5. Assist with council-related requests e.g. obtaining approved plans.

Ad hoc

1. Pro-actively assist in drafting/updating drawings for office extension building revamps etc..
2. Train and mentor other staff in the department as needed.
3. Assist the OHS officer with health and safety drawings

Working conditions:
Site-based with extensive local travelling will be required.

Drivers license and OWN vehicle required.
Need to be medically fit to perform the duty.

Qualifications & Experience:
1. Matric qualification required.
2. 2 years experience in office administration required.
3. A post-school qualification in AutoCAD is required.
4. Post-school certificate in Architecture preferred.
5. Code 08: Drivers License required.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

1. MS Office Skills:
a. MS Word - Basic
b. MS Excel Intermediate
c. MS Outlook Basic
2. Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD required.
3. Knowledge of the SAPOA area of measurements is required.
4. Basic Knowledge of MDA preferred.
